The Korea Yoga Meditation Association (KYMA), an affiliate organization of the Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA), Korea¡¯s largest yoga association, held its general assembly on November 24 and confirmed its key initiatives for 2026 along with a new executive board.

At the assembly, President Kyung-In Ham (CEO of MITA) announced the association¡¯s major plans for 2026, stating, ¡°Our goal is to establish yoga meditation not as a simple healing program, but as a way of daily practice through which both instructors and the public can grow together.¡± The core initiatives include building a training system for Yoga Meditation Trainers 200 and 300, launching three rounds of the ¡°100 Nights Yoga Meditation¡± program, and institutionalizing an annual Yoga Meditation Conference.

The Yoga Meditation Trainer 200 and 300 programs are designed to help existing yoga and meditation instructors integrate modern meditation, brain science, and lifestyle-based healing perspectives, so they can guide yoga meditation in a more structured and professional way. The ¡°100 Nights Yoga Meditation¡± program, which has already proven its effectiveness, will be offered three times a year in a hybrid online–offline format, focusing on helping participants build a consistent nightly practice of short but deep meditation amidst their busy daily lives. The Yoga Meditation Conference will combine academic presentations, case sharing by instructors, and experiential practice sessions, thereby strengthening the professional standards and public credibility of the yoga meditation field in Korea.

A new executive team was also announced. Director of Education, Young-Bin Park (Director of BINI Yoga & Daom Pilates in Cheongju), will oversee the Yoga Meditation Trainer curricula and the operation of affiliated training centers nationwide. Sujin Kim, Director of Seocho Shanti Yoga, has been appointed Director of Examinations and will establish qualification assessment and evaluation standards. Director of Test Development, Minjung Yoon (Director of Goyoham Yoga in Hanam), will be responsible for designing exam questions and evaluation tools. Director of Training, Hee-Soo Park (Director of Daon Yoga & Flying, Hyeonggok branch in Gumi), will plan and operate regular training sessions and workshops. Director of Publication, Sun-Hyun Lee (Director of Yoga Heal in Mia-dong, Gangbuk), will lead the development of specialized yoga meditation textbooks and practice manuals.

President Ham commented, ¡°By combining the academic and educational infrastructure of the Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA) with the on-the-ground experience of the Korea Yoga Meditation Association (KYMA), yoga meditation can grow into a standard model of ¡®K-Yoga Meditation¡¯ not only in Korea but globally. We are determined to make 2026 the pivotal year of leap forward for yoga meditation.¡±
